If you're the kind of person who makes up word associations to help you remember things, this blog is for you.
About a week ago, I was brainstorming with Ricardo, one of the teachers we've been working with, about value-added products we could make using the fruit dehydrator we built. As we placed the lid on the dryer with the next batch of experiments in place, Ricardo mumbled appreciatively about "Las invenciones de Narizona."
Since he had confused which state I was from many times in the past, I was pleased that he had at least gotten close. Unfortunately, "Narizona" means big-nosed, which hit a little close to home considering all the jokes that circulate about the Bickford nose (if you know my father or uncle, you'll understand).
Turns out he wasn't confused at all - he had just let slip his memory device instead of the word that he was trying to remember.
Eh, I'll just go with it...

Heh... :)
ReplyDeleteMy nose got a little bigger last night as I was splitting bamboo to use for bean poles and the bamboo slipped and hit my face. I'm gonna need some new glasses! Fortunately, it was just a flesh wound. :)
